Standard Timelines to follow: 

• Swimmers arrival: 15-20 mins prior to warmups 
• Warmups HOME @5:00 - 5:20  AWAY @ 5:25-5:45 
• Meet starts at @6pm

• Four (4) dual meets plus one (1) Individual Medley (IM) carnival with Springfield - Burke region pools, held in June and July. 
  • At least (2) Home meets are hosted at Hunt Valley.
  • At least two (2) Away meets are held at other pools within the Springfield-Burke region.
• Meets are unscored and focus on fun, acclimating swimmers to competition, trying new strokes, and improving times.
• Swimmers choose up to two (2) events they can legally swim: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, or Individual Medley (IM).
  • Coach approval is required for first-time swimmers of any stroke or IM.
• Ribbons: All swimmers earn ribbons for each event, available the next day in the family file under the pavilion

General Meet Rules

• Maximum of two (2) events per swimmer. 
  • There are 5 different events: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breastroke, Butterfly, and IM. 
• Note: If the swimmer cannot swim the same events if they swam during the preceding NVSL-sanctioned Saturday meet. 
  • Scenario example: A swimmer swam Freestyle and Backstroke on Saturday June 3rd. The swimmer can only select from Breastroke, Butterfly or IM to swim the following Monday June 5th. 
• Swimmers must be capable of swimming their chosen events legally.
• Swimmers compete in their age groups.
  • 8&Unders, 9-10, 11-12 and 13&Over.
