    Swim Team Practices Start Monday!

    Welcome, Stingrays!

It's hard to believe it's already time to kick of the swim season. The pool opens on Saturday and our first afternoon swim team practice will be Tuesday afternoon. Please see below some key information and reminders as we start the season next week. See you on deck on Tuesday afternoon! It may be a bit chilly so bring some extra towels to warm up in afterwards.

    Practice Schedule & Expectations

    • Afternoon practices: May 27 - June 10
      • 13–18: 4:00–5:00 PM
      • 8 & Under: 5:15–6:00 PM
      • 9–12: 6:00–7:00 PM
    • Practice schedule for the full season can be found here: https://huntvalley.swimtopia.com/practices
    • Please try to attend as many practices as possible. We know it’s challenging with overlapping sports and the end of the school year, but do the best you can.
    • Swimmers are required to attend AT LEAST 2 practices per week to be eligible for the Saturday A meets (June 14, 21, 28; July 5, 12)

Time Trials – Saturday June 7

    • ALL swimmers are required to attend time trials to get baseline swim times in each stroke in which they are legal.
    • If you are not sure what strokes to sign up for, speak to the coaches
    • If you are absolutely not available the morning of June 7, please let the coaches and reps know. Time trials make-up session is TBD.
    • **Important!! Please declare your swimmer’s attendance and which strokes they plan to swim (all that they are legal in) ASAP, by Wednesday, June 4 at the latest.

    Communication

    • Coaches: Maia and JP can be reached by email at [email protected].
    • You can also speak with the head coaches before or after practice, at Coach Office Hours (stay tuned for info from JP and Maia), or at another mutually convenient time.
    • **Please do NOT try to talk with the coaches DURING practices, so that they can focus on instructing the swimmers.
    • Team Reps: Olivia, Amy, and Brittany can be reached by email at [email protected]
    • One of the reps will also be available at most – though not all – practices.

Virtual Back to Pool Night slides from last month are attached. They provide a wealth of information about the season and can serve as a good reference.

There’s lots more information to come, but those are the basics to get us started. Stay tuned for a communication soon from Co-Head Coaches Maia and JP. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
