Time Trials Follow-Up
It was great seeing everyone deck this morning! Thanks for bearing with us with the weather delays (since when does it thunderstorm in the morning??). As a reminder, if the pool closes due to thunder, EVERYONE must exit the pool deck and wait in your cars; ONLY the pool manager, head coaches, ref, and team reps may remain, so as to determine when it is safe for the pool to re-open and meet to resume.
A few follow-up items:
- Make-Up Time Trials: Those who had a conflict with this morning’s time trials can email the coaches directly at [email protected] for information about a make-up time trials this week. Email Maia & JP before 7pm tomorrow (Sunday) to be eligible.
- Confused about how to "declare" (sign up) your swimmer for a meet? Please reach out to us at [email protected] or seek us out at practice and we’d be happy to help. Deck entries the day of are challenging to accommodate.
- A note about sportsmanship and foul language: We heard a lot of awesome cheering today, which was fantastic, and that’s what Stingray spirit is all about. However, we had a small number of swimmers overheard cursing, as well as some trash-talking--however good-natured--about fellow swimmers’ times, which is not acceptable. As a heads up, the coaches will be talking to the team this week about the importance of sportsmanship, supporting one another, and—among our older age groups—setting good examples for younger swimmers. We’d appreciate if you could reiterate this message at home.
Looking forward to a great week! Please reach out if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Olivia, Amy, & Brittany
