Saturday A Meet Logistics - HV @ Fair Oaks - 7:15am arrival time!
Good morning, Stingray Families,
Saturday's away meet is against the Fair Oaks Sharks. The pool address is: 3720 Charles Stewart Drive, Fairfax, VA 22033. Whether you are coming to cheer or swim, all Stingrays are welcome and encouraged to join us as we take on the Sharks.
Here is our morning schedule:
7:15 am - Arrive in the Hunt Valley Parking lot for check in and car decorating! Dust off your window markers and get ready for your car to look awesome!
7:40 am - Depart for Fair Oaks pool 3720 Charles Stewart Drive, Fairfax, VA 22033
8:25 am - 8:45 am Hunt Valley warm up
8:30 am – Officials briefing
8:40 am - Timers briefing
8:50 am - Team cheers
9:00 am - National Anthem begins
Parking: We can park in their pool lot, with overflow parking on the streets once the lot is full. It sounds like there are some cranky neighbors that have called police over illegally parked cars in the past. So if you park in the neighborhood, make sure you are NOT parked within:
- 30 feet of a stop sign
- 20 feet of an intersection
- 20 feet or a crosswalk
- 15 feet of a fire hydrant
Team Area: Our team area will be at the far left as you enter the pool. It is next to the Shark Shack concession stand. If your swimmer would like a place to sit, please be sure they bring a chair.
What to Bring: We need all our swimmers well rested for the meet and have a healthy breakfast tomorrow morning! Water intake before, during, and after practices and meets is essential to keeping your athlete hydrated and healthy. Send your swimmer with a water bottle. We will have the pop-up tents set-up. Make sure your swimmer has:
- 2 pairs of goggles
- 2 swim caps
- An extra suit (just in case!)
- 2 towels
- Umbrella!
- A chair (optional) for the team area
- water (it is going to be hot)
- sunscreen
- cooling towels (HV can be purchased at the snack shack for $5 if you want)
Volunteers: Thank you for signing up to help at the meet. Remember our "uniform" is white shirts/tops over navy blue pants/skort/skirt/shorts - anyone who is a deck volunteer (timer, runner, clerk of course, marshal, etc.) should wear white over blue.
Concessions: Their Shark Shack will be open and offers a variety of drinks, snack, and candy, as well as Anita's burritos, Chick-Fil-A biscuit sandwiches, and donuts available for purchase. **They only accept cash.
Meet Sheets: The meet sheet is posted on Swimtopia under the ‘Events and Meets’ tab, Saturday Swim Meet #3. Feel free to print out the meet sheet and bring it with you to follow along with the meet.
Sportsmanship! PLEASE remind your swimmer to shake hands after every swim, stay in the water until everyone has completed the race, and be gracious to our opposing team. Cheers must be positive and motivational because sportsmanship is a big part of being a Stingray!
Go Stingrays!
